How to reach us
INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO GET HERE BY CAR
Coming from Thessaloniki.
Take the road to Serres, after entering the prefecture of Serres, at the first intersection (immediately after the mountains and before the bridge over Strymonas River) turn right towards Lake Kerkini and Irakleia. You enter the main road and go through the villages Zefgolateio, Himaros and reach Lithotopos. Go through Lithotopos and at the dam of the lake turn right at the street (above the dam) to Irakleia. 6km. after this point turn left to Chrysochorafa. Feature of the last crossroad is the factory with bricks on your left hand.
Coming from Thrace or the city of Serres.
Exit the highway and head towards the Greek-Bulgarian border. After about 8 km., turn right at the exit to Irakleia and Gefyroudi. Drive on the main road and pass the villages Gefyroudi, Valtero and arrive at Irakleia. Inside Irakleia go straight (on the main street), at the circle you will meet at the center of the village go straight. Then you pass right by the police station and head out of Irakleia. At the ring road you will find, turn left to Lake Kerkini. 2 km. after turn right to Chrysochorafa. Feature of the last crossroad is the factory with bricks on your right hand.
Coming from Kilkis and Doirani Borders.
Head to the border of Promahona. In the village Vironia, exactly at traffic light, turn right, cross the Bridge of Strimonas River and continue straight. Pass the village of Gonimo and outside the villages Kimisi, Pontismeno and Irakleia. Continue on this road (caution: do not enter Irakleia) and 2 km. after Irakleia, turn right towards Hrysochorafa. Feature of the last crossroad is the factory with bricks on your right hand.
Coming from Promahona Borders.
From the border head south on the highway, at the first junction (after the strongholds of the Rupel and 10 km. from the border), turn right towards Kilkis. After the village of Petrichi, enter the village Vironia. There, exactly at the traffic light, turn left, cross the bridge of the Strimonas and continue straight. Pass the village of Gonimo and outside the villages Kimisi, Pontismeno and Irakleia. Continue on this road (caution: do not enter Irakleia) and 2 km. after Irakleia, turn right towards Hrysochorafa. Feature of the last crossroad is the factory with bricks on your right hand.
INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO GET HERE BY BUS
BY BUS
Every day there are 3-4 routes from Thessaloniki to Irakleia and Sidirokastro departing from the central bus station Thessaloniki (Office of Serres Prefecture). From Serres there is regular bus service to Irakleia, especially until noon. If you arrive at the Irakleia by bus, we will make sure to wait for us at the station.

BY TRAIN
Access by train is good and maybe better, because of cheap fares and many stops in the wetland. From whichever direction you come to, it is convenient to get off at Sidirokastro. From there you come to Hrysochorafa either by taxi or we arrange to pick you up if we can.
